BEHIND THE DESIGN - LINES AND VERSES COLLECTION

Our collection, Lines and Verses, was born out of a desire to merge minimalist design with biblical scripture. Today, we're excited to share the story behind the creation of this collection.

The idea for the collection came from a number of line drawing designs I'd encountered online.

The above are minimalist compositions, using only monochrome lines to form intricate scenes and shapes. Inspired by this style I set out to create designs that would capture the essence of key verses in the Bible. Psalm 97: 5-6, Matthew 6: 26-27, and Isaiah 43:2 each offering a message of comfort, a reminder of God's power and strength.

Psalm 97: 5-6 speaks of the mountains melting like wax at the presence of Adonai. Talking about His supreme power and sovereignty over creation and that creation declares His glory and righteousness. In our design inspired by this verse, intricate black lines form the shape of majestic mountains but with a feel of them flowing and melting.

Matthew 6: 26-27 reminds us of God's provision for us. A beautiful picture of how the birds of the air are cared for by God and yet arn't you worth more than they are? It can be easy to forget this on a daily basis and start to worry about how we are going to pay that bill or put food on the table. God wants to remind us that He will provide just the right amount for us! Our interpretation of this verse features delicate lines forming the outlines of birds in flight, soaring against a backdrop of pure white.

Isaiah 43:2 brings a message of comfort and assurance in times of trial, promising that God will be with us through the waters, guiding and protecting us. In our design inspired by this verse, bold black lines intertwine to form waves.

Each design in the Lines and Verses collection is a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the profound truth of God's word. We hope that these artworks will serve as a source of inspiration and encouragement, reminding you of the timeless truths found in God's word.
