Happy New Year to You All!
As we step into a new year, I want to take a moment to extend warm blessings to you. I hope your holiday season was filled with peace, rest, and opportunities to reflect on God’s goodness and faithfulness over the last year.
The start of a new year is always a significant time - a time to reflect on where we’ve been, where we are, and where we hope to go. It’s an opportunity to think about what we might want to achieve, change, or grow in over the coming months. But more importantly it's a time to pause and ask yourself: How does God desire me to serve Him this year?
This question challenges us to look beyond our own plans and align our hearts with His. It’s a willingness to trust God’s purpose and timing in our lives, even when we don’t know what that might look like and surrender our lives to Him.
The Hebrew word “Hineni” הנני is a beautful statment of surrender and availability. Translated as “Here I am,” it’s made up of two words: hineh, meaning “behold,” and ani, meaning “I.” It’s a profound declaration of presence, readiness, and willingness to serve.
In Isaiah 6:8, we find this word in action:
"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here I am. Send me!’”

Isaiah’s response is a powerful example of what it means to say Hineni to God. As we begin this year, let’s take the time to ask ourselves: Are we willing to say Hineni? Are we ready to offer our complete availability to the Lord, trusting Him with the unknowns of the journey ahead?
It’s not an easy question. But when we take that step of faith, it’s amazing to see how God moves and works in our lives for His plans and purposes in ways we could never imagine.
If you’d like to learn more about the meaning and depth of Hineni, I encourage you to explore this excellent article from FIRM (Fellowship of Israel Related Ministries) as well as this word study in Strong’s Concordance.
As we journey into this new year, may we each find the courage to say, “Here I am, Lord.” Let’s embrace the plans He has for us, trusting that His ways are always the best!
May you a blessed this year knowing deeper His love, shalom, truth and spirit in your lives! Let's see what Adonai has in store for this year!
Blessings,
Olivia
